This is the wishlist, a list of suggested improvements and enhancements for consideration, along with an (entirely arbitrary) "percentage" indication for how likely it is that I think the idea will be acted on...
| 7 | 80% | There is currently no way to remove a "commencing from" or "until.." date from repeating events. Once set, you can only change these dates, not remove them [Graeme] |

Following comments at the AGM, I wonder if it would be it be worth noting events where help is required, with contact details so that assistance can be pro-actively offered? [Tony H.]
Needs some thinking about - these events are mostly going to be visible to the general public, but we don't really want contact details for club members to be visible to non-members. [Graeme] ...Is it feasible to have two event lists, one for members only and one for the general public to view only. The one for the members can be editable by members and they can enter their names to assist at an event similar to the Duty Rota. Only the person who puts the event onto the list can be permitted to alter the event details, all volunteers can add or remove their own names. The list for the general public just advertises the event. [Ray] The problem here is that we don't individually log-in, so the website doesn't know "who" you are. I think an easier (for me) alternative would be to have a free-text "notes" area for each event, that any member could update, but which is only available to members. Still needs some thought, though. [Graeme] |
| 9 | 80% | It would be nice if rota participants could log-in using their own personal user IDs and passwords. The option to swap duties (and send email to other rota participants) would only be available if you had personally logged-in, in which case your identity would be "known" and could be used to keep an audit trail of what was changed. Therefore we could see who had set up the duty swap, etc.[Ray] |
| 1 | Make it possible to update calendar entries that have been scheduled as recurring events - for example, to show a one-off change of venue for a committee meeting, an unusual start time for a race, or a topic or theme for a particular club night. [Graeme] |

We could do with an event list for Thorpe Lea Model Centre, possibly in a similar vein [to #2, elsewhere on this page], to show forthcoming events.
We could have the club list showing all events, including fishing competitions and the public list only showing marine events. [Ray]
If I understand you correctly, we already have this. I've set up an event type called "Angling"; you can just create events and mark them as "Angling", and at the "Thorpe Lea (Lake)" location. Anyone can limit the list of events to just show whats happening at Thorpe Lea. [Graeme] |
| N/A | 13-Aug-04: The rota maintenance pages are now protected by an "are you sure?" check against accidentally deleting an entire rota when attempting to remove an individual name from the rota. "Delete" buttons are now included against the name of each person in the rota. |
| N/A | 14-Aug-04: Fixed a bug wherein a "gap" was left in the schedule when new recurring events and rotas were scheduled for extra weeks into the future. |
| N/A | 14-Aug-04: When events are automatically added to the calendar (recurring events such as committee meetings or races, and duty rota days), these are added in "blocks" of a few months at a time, a few weeks/months before the current schedule runs out. This has been altered so that the settings are different for duty rotas than for other regularly repeating events (committee meetings etc). This means we can re-schedule meetings more often than duty rotas. An improved notice has been added to the foot of each calendar page, explaining how up-to-date the calendar is. A similar notice has been added into the letters written to duty rota participants, and to emails that are sent automatically to duty rota participants. |
| 3 | 15-Aug-04: We can now add a general comment to accompany an update to a duty rota - for example any freeform text that might include a call for extra attention to the ground conditions over winter, or some note to explain why the order of rotation amongst duty rota members just changed [Graeme/Liam]. If any such notice is given, it will appear on the letters sent to duty rota participants, and on the automatic "reschedule notification" emails that are sent to the rota participants. |
| 6 | 25-Aug-04: [Technical one, this] Some people have reported problems using the website with other browsers. The site works best with MSIE 5.5 and 6, slightly less well with Netscape 7 (due to CSS differences), and less well again with earlier versions of Netscape (and possibly other) browsers due to JavaScript DOM differences. The main problems turn out to have been related to the browser security settings, and conflicts with Norton Internet Security/Personal Firewall (NIS/NPF 2003/2004); instructions for how to sort it out have now been added to the "help" pages. |
| N/A | 2-Oct-04: Improved support for copying/pasting the events calendar for publication in newsletters |
| 8 | 3-Jul-05: The list of rotas now includes an "email" icon so that you can (after logging-in appropriately) send email message automatically to everyone participating in a specified duty rota [Graeme] |
| 5 | 28-Aug-05: Provide an optional "with effect from" date for duty rotas and recurring events, so that changes don't always have to take effect immediately. [Graeme] Implemented a a "with effect from" data for rotas only, defaulting to "today" |
